In focus: GM CNC

by Grace Kneafsey

The exclusive UK distributors of the Victor brand of machine tools, GM CNC are now listing their machine range on the equipal marketplace. Grace Kneafsey, head of BD at equipal, found out a little more about them ⬇️

Based in Oldham, Greater Manchester, GM CNC had a great start to 2021, announcing an extension to their existing facility including a brand-new showroom and an expanded warehouse. Their success & growth seems to be right in line with that of Victor Taichung, the manufacturer for which GM CNC is the exclusive distributor for the UK & Ireland. Victor themselves recently unveiled a hugely impressive ‘smart factory’ in Taiwan, featuring automatic guided vehicles, the latest robotics & solar cells.

GM CNC

Reliability and durability. The two words that the team at GM CNC use to answer what makes Victor machines different, across a portfolio of multi-tasking CNC turning centres, 5-axis machining centres, horizontal and vertical lathes, vertical and horizontal machining centres, wheel machining lathes, robotic handling systems and plastic injection moulding machines.

In fact, a recent customer - Kelly Precision Ltd - noted “We've had Victor machines from the day we started. The first new machine we ever bought was a Victor 26 in 1994 and it’s still running perfectly. Still making high precision parts, no problem."

Equipment focus: Victor 5 Axis Machine Centres

Combining highly productive 5 axis machining with the the rigidity to undertake heavy duty material removal, the 5 axis range of Victor machining centres now offer three different models to suit a huge range of machining applications:

⚙️ Vcenter AX380

? Vcenter AX630

⛓️ Vcenter AX800

"The benefits of 5-axis machining are evident, well documented and well recognised. By cutting a component on a 5-axis machine, users can machine complex shapes in a single setup. This can significantly improve productivity, reduced cycle times, reduce and often eliminate secondary set-ups and with this, reduce any deviation for error that can be caused by multiple set-ups."
